Welcome to Sweet Red Balls,

our pioneering venture in sustainable tomato cultivation, proudly producing the perfect Scottish Tomatoes.

At Standhill farm, we pride ourselves on pioneering sustainable tomato cultivation, producing premium Scottish tomatoes while minimising our environmental footprint. Our operations are powered by wood chip boilers and a biogas system, utilising rainwater collected from our roofs. We prioritise our connection to the local community by employing dedicated local staff, fostering economic growth in our region.

Our tomato journey starts in January, with planting in rock wool, leading to abundant growth from April to November. Our tomatoes grace national retailers and local markets. After harvest, spent plants fuel our biogas system, contributing to green power generation.

Beyond sustainability, we’re proud to supply local and national fruit and market shops. Each year, a significant portion of our harvest finds its way to the bustling Glasgow fruit market. Our commitment to quality, sustainability, and community shines through in every sweet red ball we produce.
